Ring ring at the wrong moment

I was the first one who ever posted here and now, after so many others posted, I am ready for an even better memory. During our last holidays this year we went by train down to    South Thailand to join my friend’s wedding. Being invited and being part in such beautiful wedding ceremony is unique and special to me. It starts in the morning when the couple arrives at the hotel. At first they had to show their respect to their parents. The couple had to sits on the floor while the parents sit (higher) on a chair. At this point they had to give presents and thanks to all parents. This performance was follow by the blessing of five monks.

The five monks where brought into the room and took place

on stage much higher than all of us. For the next thirty minutes everyone was listening to the monks blessing. How to describe a monks praying? Well it’ s very deep low rhyming kind of voice. Actually, for the first time in my life I enjoy the calmness and beauty of the voices. But during this enjoyment and while I was almost in a kind of sleepy state, someone’s mobile phone went… aagh .. like an early alarm clock during your morning hangover, terrible right? Fortunately, the other people started to turn off their phones and it continued nicely. The Monks’ blessing was followed by a person blessing by family, friends and acquaintances and we poured water over the couple’s vowed hands.

If your friends ever invite you: be there! It s a special experience which becomes a nice memory.
